ART HISTORY IN THE PUB
Art History in the Pub was a series of informal talks that took place around the UK. They brought interesting (and often local) art history and visual cultures to a wider community. Monthly or one-off talks lasted for about 30 minutes, with a short break, followed by a general discussion.
The Association for Art History started Art History in the Pub in 2011 until the the pandemic. The aim was to provide a platform through which interesting art history and visual cultures could be presented in an informal and accessible setting, to introduce new perspectives, and broaden audiences. Art History in the Pub talks were always free and open to all. Offering a social opportunity for people to meet up, attend individually or form the basis of topic specific networks.
