Art History in the Pub

Art History in the Pub is a series of informal talks that take place around the UK. They bring interesting (and often local) art history and visual culture to a wider public community. Monthly or one-off talks last for about 30 minutes, with a break for getting extra drinks, followed by general discussion.

The Association for Art History started Art History in the Pub in 2011. The aim was to provide a platform through which interesting art history and visual culture could be presented in an informal and accessible setting, to introduce new perspectives, and broaden audiences. Art History in the Pub talks are always free and open to all. The are social opportunities for people to meet up regularly, attend individually or form the basis of topic specific networks.
