The Association for Art History leads the collective effort in the UK to advance the study and practice of art history. We serve over 1,000 members from within and outside of the UK and represent the interests of art historians, members and non-members alike. We publish the highly respected journal, Art History, a leading international publication in this field.
Plan S Consultation
Plan S is an initiative for Open Access publishing launched in September 2018. Plan S requires that, from 2020, scientific publications that result from research funded by public grants must be published in compliant Open Access journals or platforms.
Art history for all
In our responses to recent policy consultations on education and funding, we have highlighted our concerns with respect to meaningful and equitable access to education, regardless of location, class, income, gender or race.
Research Excellence Framework 2028
In June 2023 the four funding bodies (Research England, the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and the Department for the Economy, Northern Ireland) published their decisions regarding the design of the 2028 Research Excellence Framework (REF) indicating areas in which consultation was sought from those in the HE sector.
