Artist Jade Monserrat is joined by academics and curators Anna Arabindan-Kesson and Alexandra Moore for a discussion inspired by Montserrat’s practice, touching upon the themes of landscape, extraction, and abolition, and considering the role of art, historically and in the present moment, in shaping vision and potentially creating a more caring future.

Jade Montserrat is an artist based in Whitby, England, she works through performance, drawing, painting, film, installation, sculpture, print and text. Alexandra Moore is an educator, curator and PhD candidate in Visual Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Anna Arabindan-Kesson is an assistant professor of African American and Black Diasporic art jointly appointed in the Departments of African American Studies and Art and Archaeology at Princeton University.
