For the past 25 years Joy Gregory’s practice has been engaged with the telling of stories that slip between the cracks.

‘I have always been interested in listening to the voices which are all but silenced by dominant narratives, but this became more significant following a research trip to the Caribbean in 1998 and had a profound effect on my work. My gallery talk for the Art History Festival will revisit some of the works which came out of that research (Memory and Skin, Cinderella Tours Europe and Lost Histories) as well as trace the impact of that experience on my later works including Kalahariand, Seeds of Empire -A little breeze.
