Online panel event discussing the Bloomsbury Women with Frances Spalding in conversation with Grace Brockington and Jon King.

Frances Spalding is an art historian, critic and biographer. She read art history at the University of Nottingham and has a specialist interest in twentieth-century British art and first established her reputation with Roger Fry: Art and Life. She acted as Editor of The Burlington Magazine, 2015-16, and is now is Emeritus Fellow of Clare Hall, Cambridge.

Grace Brockington is an associate professor of Art History at the University of Bristol. She is a specialist in modern British art, with particular interests in the connections between art and theatre, internationalism, and literature. Her work has been supported by a Philip Leverhulme Prize, an AHRC Early Career Fellowship, and a Visiting Scholarship at the Yale Center for British Art.

Jon King is a Research Assistant for the Women and the Arts Forum at the National Gallery, London. With an interest in early-twentieth-century British art, Jon’s prior academic research focuses on the Bloomsbury Group artists Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. He completed a PhD in History of Art at the University of York in 2022.
