Public Art: Aesthetics in the Public Realm

  • Region: London
  • Type: Conference
  • Cost: Free

Friday 15 November 9.00 – 5.30 pm

At Royal Institute of British Architects, 66 Portland Place, London, W1B 1AD

Our exciting conference at the RIBA will bring together contemporary artists, designers and visionaries for a thought-provoking event about public art.

We’ll look at the social function of public art through time and explore the curation of public space and commissioning artists.

Today’s contemporary art is tomorrow’s heritage.

How can we value and enjoy it?

Speakers include designer Thomas Heatherwick CBE, artists Hew Locke, Anya Gallaccio and Turner-prize winning architects Assemble In Conversation alongside art critics and curators.

Tickets £55 for the day including lunch & goody bag at heritageoflondon.org/conference

£15 for students/young artists (please get in touch for the terms or visit heritageoflondon.org/student-and-young-artist-tickets)
