Advanced Assistant or Associate Professor | Chinese Arts and Cultures
The Department of the History of Art at the University of Michigan invites applications for a full-time position in Chinese Arts and Cultures to begin September 2020. This is a university-year appointment at the rank of advanced Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with tenure. The position may be filled by persons working in any field of premodern Chinese visual art up to the late imperial era, pursuing any of a range of methodological approaches. The successful applicant will be asked to develop an array of undergraduate and graduate courses, to supervise graduate students, and to participate actively in the life of the department. Applicants should provide a cover letter, CV, statement of current and future research plans, statement of teaching philosophy and experience, evidence of teaching excellence, and a writing sample (35 pages maximum).
