British Art Network 2022 Bursary Applications Now Open

Type of Opportunity: Bursary Opportunity

Title: British Art Network 2022 Bursary Applications Now Open

Summary: The British Art Network is offering 10 bursaries to lead Research Groups in 2022, and is looking for 15 people to join its Emerging Curators Group

Details:

Research Groups Opportunity

Do you want to contribute to the British Art Network’s expanding programme of activities?

Is there a current topic within British art curating that you want to see promoted, researched and shared?

Whether you work with a collection or gallery space, in heritage settings, in a university, or operate independently, we welcome your proposals for a British Art Network supported programme of activity.

We would especially encourage proposals that reflect engagement with historic art as well as contemporary practice, and for programmes that would address the acute under- representation of people with disabilities and of neurodivergence as a critical issue within the sector.

Emerging Curators Group

Are you involved in producing exhibitions or art research? Does this work include a focus on British art?

Are you passionate about making positive changes to the way British art is collected, displayed and interpreted?

Do you feel you have a way to go to feel well-established in your career? Would you benefit from a peer support network and professional development programme?

We don’t mind what your job title might be or where you’re doing this work. If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to the above, the British Art Network’s Emerging Curators Group (ECG) wants to hear from you!

For both of these opportunities, we particularly welcome applications from art workers who are Black, Asian and minority ethnic, working class, have disabilities, or are in any other way under-represented in the curatorial and research landscape.
