Call for papers

Burlington Contemporary is an open-access platform for new writing on contemporary art, published by The Burlington Magazine. We publish weekly book and exhibition reviews, interviews and artist profiles, and twice a year we publish a peer-reviewed academic journal. The journal comprises longer-form articles that present new research in the field of contemporary art.

We are now seeking article submissions for Issue 8, which will be dedicated to research on contemporary drawing and published in May 2023. We take submissions of original unpublished research on contemporary art that are no longer than 5,000 words. A synopsis of 150 words should be sent to the editor at burlingtoncontemporary@burlington.org.uk before the article submission. The deadline for submissions has been extended to the end of January 2023.
