Senior Finance Officer | Association for Art History
The Association for Art History are looking for a new part time Senior Finance Officer (2.5/3 days a week).
In this role you will contribute to the finance operation of the Association by managing its accounts and providing reliable financial data for planning purposes. Working in an office of six people, this role will liaise with the Honorary Treasurer, the finance and risk management committee, as well as banks, auditors, insurers and HMRC. Advise and support from an external provider is also on hand, to offer guidance if needed in this post. Reporting into the CEO, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the day to day management of recording and filing all financial transactions, using Excel and Sage, along with producing monthly budget reports, monthly management accounts and annual budgets. Duties will also include managing VAT and other tax reporting for the organisation and ensuring that all updates and submissions are on time with Companies House and the Charity Commission. To be considered for this role, it is essential to have previous experience in a similar post, with a good understanding of financial and accounting systems and processes. You are required to have knowledge of budget preparation and invoicing, as well as strong Excel skills and facility with financial software packages (e.g. Sage, Xero, Quickbooks). The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified, or working towards completion of CIMA or ACCA. Analytical skills, along with an excellent eye for detail and good writing and verbal communication skills are required along with the ability to work proactively and as part of a team.
