History of Art teacher (maternity cover)

Radley College (Oxfordshire) seeks to appoint a teacher of History of Art to provide maternity leave cover from September 2019. This is a popular A Level subject taught within the History department in Years 12 & 13.

History of Art is a popular A-Level subject taught within the History Department in 6.1 (Year 12) and 6.2 (Year 13). Pupils follow the Edexcel specification of the A-Level. In 6.1 they study an introduction to Visual Analysis followed by the Renaissance and Nineteenth Century period options; in 6.2 they study the War and Identities themes. If the chosen candidate has other specialisms these could be accommodated.

History of Art is a very well resourced subject, with a dedicated classroom, an art library and excellent IT. The College’s location just outside Oxford provides opportunities to teach in the city’s museums and collections, and transport links to London and beyond are excellent for field trips.

Many students continue their History of Art studies beyond Radley in either single or combined university courses.

The College has its own generous salary scale, together with the use of superb facilities to the hospitable and inclusive atmosphere which characterises the College community. A willingness to be fully involved in the extra-curricular life of a busy and thriving boarding school is essential.

The deadline for applications is 7 February 2019 and interviews will take place on 14 Fabruary 2019. Further details and the application forms can be found at this link.
