NEC: A Level Art History Distance learning Tutor

The National Extension College (NEC) is looking for an experienced and passionate A level History of Art tutor to support students via online distance learning.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of a subject that remains out of reach for many learners in traditional settings. At NEC, we’re committed to widening access — supporting students from diverse and often underrepresented backgrounds, including those in state education, to achieve their qualifications and unlock new opportunities.

As a History of Art tutor, you’ll:

• Provide expert feedback on assignments through our online platform

• Guide and motivate students on their learning journey

• Support students who are often studying independently alongside other commitments

We’re looking for:

• A degree in History of Art (or related field)

• A recognised teaching qualification

• Recent experience teaching A level History of Art

• An understanding of the challenges faced by younger learners (14–18) in online settings

• Excellent written communication and constructive feedback skills

• A belief in the power of education to transform lives

This role is especially suited to tutors who want to make a difference, supporting access to a subject that is still limited in many schools.
