Semmes Foundation Fellowship in Museum Studies
The McNay Art Museum, a museum of modern and contemporary art, is offering a ten-month fellowship in museum studies beginning in the fall of 2024. The goal of the fellowship is to prepare individuals interested in embarking on a curatorial career by providing significant experience in several areas of specialization, including work with the collection, exhibitions, publications, and programs. Applicants should have a master’s degree in art history, art criticism, museum studies, curatorial practice, or a related field; excellent written and oral communication skills; computer proficiency; and research skills. The salary for this ten-month, full-time fellowship is $33,000.
The fellowship program has a strong record of success, with previous fellows currently holding positions at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Denver Art Museum, Mexic-Arte Museum, Norton Simon Museum, San Antonio Museum of Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and McNay Art Museum, among other institutions.
