The Cooper Union – ADJUNCT FACULTY (PART-TIME) FOR THE HISTORY AND THEORY OF ART

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Cooper Union is currently accepting submissions from qualified candidates to teach History and Theory of Art. We seek an active, culturally diverse faculty of the highest caliber with an academic background in the following: pre-17th century art history topics, with an emphasis on the non-west; art of the Global South; art, ecology, and climate change; art and mental health; art and race; art and indigeneity. A demonstrated record of teaching is preferred.

About The Cooper Union:

The Cooper Union was founded in 1859 by philanthropist Peter Cooper to provide an education “equal to the best” to all who qualify, regardless of race, religion, gender, wealth or social status. Today, The Cooper Union provides a rigorous professional education in the Schools of Art, Architecture, and Engineering, including a broad curriculum offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Qualifications:

ABD or PhD degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent and demonstrated strong teaching record preferred.

The pay range for this position is $107 – $140 per hour. This is a unionized position.
