New Research Assistant
We are delighted to welcome Edwin Coomasaru as our recently appointed freelance Research Assistant for the Association for Art History’s new resource portal project. Edwin will help to develop a new free online resource for anti-racist and de-colonial approaches to (and for) art history.
In 2020 the Association’s Higher Education Comittee agreed on the importance of supporting the international Black Lives Matter movement, and on collating resources on anti-racist, postcolonial, and decolonising art histories, as well as practical guides for catalysing institutional change. This project will result in an online Resource Portal that collates information on materials related to anti-racist, postcolonial and decolonising art histories, as well as practical guides for catalysing institutional change. The free online resource will be available via our website and will be accessible to students at all levels, as well as scholars and museum professionals.
The work of the Research Assistant will be overseen by members of the Association’s Higher Education Committee, including Joanna Woodall (Courtauld Institute of Art) and Amy Tobin (University of Cambridge).
