Art History Residency
Thanks to everyone who has applied for this new initiative, the first ‘resident’ will be announced shortly.
We are delighted to announce a new Art History Residency for mid-career researchers.
In partnership with The Ampersand Foundation, the Association for Art History will offer an art history residency of up to four months from October 2021 to January 2022.
The residency is intended to give a mid-career researcher the opportunity to spend focused time on their research/writing in a house in the Derbyshire countryside.
The residency is available to Association for Art History members and will be awarded on the basis of a competitive application process. The recipient will be expected to give a talk on their work at the University of Nottingham in the term following the residency.
This residency will enable the recipient to further their work in a quiet setting in a well-appointed, two-bedroom house with all household costs covered, maintenance and cleaning provided and with a £1,000 per month stipend.
The Association extends its great thanks to the Ampersand Foundation for helping us advance the study of art history in the UK with this opportunity and to Mark Rawlinson, Associate Professor of Art History, University of Nottingham, for his role in establishing the residency to benefit colleagues in the field.
