Plan Prepare Provide
Art Teacher Residential Course | University of Leeds | 8 – 10 July 2019
Plan, Prepare, Provide: Art Teachers Residential offers a unique opportunity for teachers and their schools to improve their delivery of both academic and practical art lessons and to build upon their art historical knowledge. Now in its third year, this two and a half day residential course provides critical advice, insight and experience from current art and art history teachers, academics and arts professionals.
Participating in the Art Teachers Residential enables teachers to:
• engage with pro-active ways to develop your teaching and artistic practice
• build networks, and share ideas and experiences with peers
• improve delivery and results on the written element of the Art A Level
• develop new ideas for planning
• integrate ideas from art by past and contemporary artists into art lessons with confidence
Feedback from previous participants includes:
“The whole two and a half days was a brilliant experience, learning from others, pushing me out of my comfort zone and hugely building my confidence”
“I had such an amazing time. Learnt so much, was inspired by new ideas, and great resources to take away and use. Thank you to everyone”
“I have never been on such powerful, effective and useful training. All of the sessions were completely relevant to me and my role as an FE teacher in art and design. I have been teaching for 22 years and I felt the sessions summed up, supported and presented new ideas of the very best practice. I have been encouraged to think about my practice in a fresh way”
“Wow! Inspiring sessions! I came away from this feeling energised and confident. I will be implementing all aspects learnt in my lessons. A huge thank you to everyone involved”
