ANNOUNCING: THE ART HISTORY FESTIVAL 2026

Monday 5 – Sunday 11 October 2026, Nationwide & Online

Association for Art History’s Art History Festival returns for a week-long celebration of the histories of art, architecture and design, bringing together over 120 free events online and across the UK.

The Festival celebrates art history and visual culture, and offers the chance to try something new, discover different perspectives and explore how art history can help us better understand the world we live in. With events taking place both in venues across the UK and online, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

This year’s Festival includes a range of events exploring making and materials, from hands-on workshops and demonstrations to creative experiences that invite you to look more closely at how art is made.

There are also events designed especially for young people aged 13–18, offering opportunities to explore art history in new and engaging ways.

Alongside these, you’ll find events exploring a huge range of subjects, approaches and perspectives.

Every Art History Festival event is free to attend. Whether you’re an art history enthusiast, completely new to the subject, a student, a family, a creative practitioner or simply curious to learn something new, there’s something to discover.

As ever, the AAH will be hosting our own events as part of the Art History Festival. Look out for news coming soon about these events happening in London and online.

The deadline for submitting events has now passed, but do get in touch with our team to discuss a late submission, or if you would like to join our media partners The Burlington Magazine and Apollo Magazine, or support the Festival in other ways.

Watch this space for details on our programme of special Festival events programme soon.
