This session will be led by Magic Lantern’s award-winning children’s author and Egyptologist Hugo Cook. Looking at key art works from Ancient Egypt this session will
- Enrich your knowledge and understanding of Ancient Egyptian art and civilisation
- Help raise your confidence in introducing art, both ancient and modern, to children
- Demonstrate how to use art works to provide opportunities to consolidate taught history skills such as investigation, interpretation and communication
- Explore how art can help develop children’s powers of imagination, inventiveness and critical awareness
This workshop will include:
- Practical case studies of artworks from UK galleries and museums
- A range of interactive strategies to engage children with art and fire up their imagination and support learning
