In 1935, Frank Lloyd Wright designed a country house for the Kaufmann family of Pittsburgh. Cantilevered over a small stream and waterfall, Fallingwater was instantly famous for its innovative and dramatic design. It continues to inspire visitors from around the world and has been named “the best all-time work of American architecture” by the American Institute of Architects and designated UNESCO World Heritage in 2019.
Wright’s masterwork, nestled within the lush, wooded Bear Run Nature Reserve, is a timeless monument to organic architecture at its absolute best. Learn how architect, client, and site came together to create a house designed for living in harmony with nature.
