Institute of Art and Law’s Diploma course in Intellectual Property and Collections
Three-day online profesionnal training course to give art historians the edge in understanding legal issues around copyright (published images, photography, fair dealing and new technologies like AI).
This Diploma in Intellectual Property and Collections course has been running each summer for over a decade. This year it will run 23-25 June, 10-5 each day (UK time), online via Zoom. This will be an ideal crash course for art historians on the law around copyright and other IP rights, including highly relevant topics associated with publishing images in monographs and articles, photography, duration of copyright, assignments, fair dealing exceptions for research and other uses, moral rights and the impact of new technologies like AI. The course involves an oral and written assessment and results in the awarding of an Institute of Art and Law Diploma. Cost is £800.00 plus VAT, but we can offer bursaries depending on need.
