Led by Anne Helmreich, Director of the Archives of American Art, and Marisa Bourgoin, Head of Reference Services, this presentation provides participants with an opportunity to learn about the resources of the Smithsonian Institution’s Archives of American Art. The presentation will pay particular attention to those materials of great interest to the catalogue raisonné community, including artist’s papers, commercial gallery records, and materials relating to arts organizations, and include a brief history of the Archives of American Art and the scope of the collections. It will also help researchers understand better the distinctions between the microfilm and ‘paper’ holdings and how to request digitization and reproductions. Over the course of the conversation, tips for searching the collections will also be shared.

*Tickets are free to ICRA members, students and over-65s, £10 for non-members*
There will be 15 minutes for direct Q&A, and the opportunity to submit questions in advance when registering for tickets.
