Call for ​Papers: “The Art of Encounter: Exploring Spiritual Engagement with Art Objects​”

The Raclin Murphy Museum of Art ​at the University of Notre Dame invites submissions for a symposium exploring the relationship between art, spirituality, and museum ​​spaces. This gathering will bring together scholars, artists, ​m​useum professionals, and spiritual leaders for a day of conversation, reflection, and embodied engagement with art in the museum’s galleries. ​Proposals that investigate how encounters with art can shape spiritual understanding, foster theological insight, or deepen contemplative practice​ are all welcome. 

Thursday, April 23, 2026: Keynote: Pádraig Ó Tuama
Friday, April 24, 2026: Panels and Programming

The deadline for submissions is Monday, November 3, 2025.
