Call for abstracts: Art History, Visual Culture and Heritage — SWS Vienna ART 2026

Call for abstracts on art history, visual culture, architecture, digital humanities and heritage for SWS Vienna ART, 2–5 December 2026.

SWS Scholarly Society and its partners, listed on the conference website, invite research contributions to the Arts & Humanities sessions of the 13th SWS Vienna ART 2026 conference, “When Science meets Art”, at Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna, Austria, 2–5 December 2026.

Topics include history of art, visual arts, architecture and design, digital humanities, museology and heritage studies, and the relationships between science, art and society. Oral, poster and virtual presentation options are available.

Submit an abstract in English through the official registration and paper-submission system by 26 October 2026. Abstracts must not exceed 3,000 characters, including the heading, author names and keywords. Abstracts are assessed by the conference review committee; authors whose abstracts are approved are invited to submit full papers. The full-paper deadline is 16 November 2026. Manuscripts are subject to the published peer-review and publication policies.

Participation is fee-paying. The in-person Lecturer fee is €349 through 26 October and €401 afterwards, excluding VAT. Other participation categories and their fees are listed on the website. This is a conference call, not a paid employment opportunity.
